In order to complete your diet tracking project, you will need to find some type of diet tracking software. There are books and databases available that might give you basic nutrition information, but for this project you will want as much information as you can get. This includes information on the vitamins and minerals in the foods that you'll eat over a four day period. MyPlate.gov does have a useful diet tracking program that I'm going to show you how to use in this video. You can navigate to their site just by entering ChooseMyPlate.gov And then, looking for SuperTracker and Other Tools. Select the SuperTracker, and then click on the icon. The tool we're going to be using is the Food Tracker. Feel free to navigate some of these other tools. They're very useful in looking at your diet and physical activity, what your nutrient needs are, and so forth, but we won't need to use all of them to finish this project. Let's go to the Food Tracker. In order to keep a four day record and create reports, you are going to want to log in. To do so, if you haven't, you will need to create a profile. Let's go there. I've already created a but But just let's go through the basics of the profile creation. You'll need to come up with a profile name, this does not need to be your actual name. And you'll have to enter demographic information. This should be your actual information, your age, your gender, your level of physical activity. Now, this I recommend that you stick to less than 30 minutes a day. I found that SuperTracker tends to overestimate the calories we need in a day. So, if you increase your physical activity, you calorie requirements are going to go even higher, so let's stick to less than 30 minutes a day. Enter your height and weight. You can do this by both U.S. and Metric options. And then, register to save this information. At the end, you'll click Submit. And now, you'll have a username and password with which you can log in.
