And for the Power Rangers, the fight is tougher than ever. That's because Lord. Zedd, Emperor of all Evil, is back! He banished Rita Repulsa, the Queen of Evil, from her fortress. Now he's in charge! With his fiery moods, Zedd 2 frightens all who dare to come near him. And he's on a mission: to destroy the Power Rangers once and for all! But Zordon, the good wizard who gave the Rangers their super-strength, has made them even more powerful. Jason, Kimberly, Trini, Zack, and Billy each have a new, incredible Zord charged with the power of thunder! Tommy doesn't have a new Zord--and he might never! His powers are weakening and are in danger of fading out forever! But the Power Rangers--including Tommy--will stop at nothing to protect the Earth. So evil forces beware! It's morphin time! 3 Chapter 1 "What a mess!" exclaimed Mr. Caplan, the principal of Angel Grove High School. It was Join-A-Club Day at school, and it looked as if everyone had shown up. Kids who wanted to sign up spilled out of the youth center and into the school auditorium. Mr. Caplan 4 rushed back and forth between the two. He was a total wreck. "I just hope everyone can find the right club," he mumbled as he flipped through the wrinkled papers on his clipboard. Then he shook his head --and his toupee slipped to one side. Tall, athletic Trini rolled her eyes and grinned as Mr. Caplan dashed past. Everything was going just great for her. She was president of the school's new Volleyball Club. And kids were mobbing her sign-up table. "Thanks for joining my club, everyone," she said. "Our first practice will be at the volleyball court in fifteen minutes." 5 Then Trini glanced around to see what her five best friends were up to. There was Billy. He was normally quiet and shy, but now he was talking excitedly at his Science Club booth. He was a science whiz and the school's smartest student. Lots of kids were signing up for his club. Students crowded around Trini's friend Zack, too. He flashed his famous smile as he jammed to some music. A little bit of karate, a little bit of hip-hop--a lot of fun! No wonder so many kids wanted to join his Hip-Hop-Kido Club. Trini spotted her friends Jason and Tommy. A Karate Club was 6 perfect for them, she thought. They practically learned karate before they walked! Then there was Kimberly--Trini's best, best friend. Kimberly stood in front of a sign with pink flowers painted on it. Her cool, new Lycra outfit had pink flowers all over it, too. Even the scrunchie holding her shoulder-length brown hair in a ponytail looked like a flower. It wasn't hard to guess Kimberly's hobby. Kimberly had a green thumb! She could make anything grow. She headed the brand-new Garden Club. It's funny, thought Trini. My friends and I are different in many ways. But we're still best friends! 7 Maybe that was because they all shared one very special secret. Something that none of the other kids knew. Trini and her friends acted and dressed like ordinary teenagers. But when Evil threat ened the Earth, they changed into something outrageous--they morphed into the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! While kids crowded around Trini's table, she wrote down names as fast as she could. She was so busy that she didn't notice anything different about Kimberly today. Kimberly usually wore a great big smile. But today it was nowhere in sight. 8 Kimberly rearranged the plants on her table for about the tenth time. She let out a long sigh. She didn't have anything else to do. Kimberly had spent hours on her flashy pink Garden Club sign. She had told all her friends and classmates about her club. And her whole notebook was full of exciting projects. But something was wrong. Not one single person had signed up for her club! Kimberly couldn't help but stare longingly at all the kids at Trini's table. You'd think Trini was giving away free pizza! "Hey, Trini," Kimberly called. "You've got a mob there. What a turnout!" 9 "I know," Trini said. Then she laughed and tossed her long black braid over her shoulder. "Isn't this great?" Kimberly nodded and finally forced a bright smile. "Yeah, it's great," she said. But her smile faded as Trini turned away. "I wish there was somebody left to join my club!" Kimberly whispered to her cactus as she blinked back tears. Then somebody bumped into Kimberly. She grabbed her hot-pink felt-tip pen and whirled around with a big smile. At last someone to sign up! But it wasn't a new club member. 10 Chapter 2 "Quit shoving me," Bulk shouted at Skull. Bulk and Skull were Angel Grove's biggest troublemak ers. Their sign-up table stood right next to Kimberly's. Bulk was a great big guy with a very tiny, greased-back ponytail. His favorite sport was telling his skinny pal Skull what to do. 11 Kimberly giggled at their clothes. Bulk had on a floppy brown Indiana Jones hat. Skull wore black, old-fashioned army scout clothes over long red underwear. A silver skeleton earring dangled from his left ear. Their table was piled high with tape recorders, walkie-talkies, beepers--every imaginable kind of electronic gadget. "Listen up!" Bulk shouted. He peered at passing students through a huge magnifying glass. Unsolved Mysteries Club is now accepting applications!" "Be there or be square," Skull added. Lots of kids came by to check 12 things out at Bulk's table. Kimberly put her hands on her hips and glanced around. "I don't get this! I know that people were interested in my club. They told me they would sign up. Where is everybody?" Kimberly picked up her favorite cactus plant. It had three big pink blooms on it. Then she grinned. So what if nobody else joined her club? She would just work on her projects by herself. She gave her cactus a big wink. "We're going to design the best garden that this place has ever seen!" Bulk and Skull spied her talking to her plant--and snickered. "You can't do much with a club 13 of one, can you, Miss Flower Power?" Bulk said. "What's the matter? Did your best friend get all the club members?" Kimberly's face turned bright red. "Somebody will show up. You wait and see." "Yeah, right," Bulk said. Skull hooted with laughter. That does it! Kimberly thought. They're right! Nobody is interested in my club! Everyone's at Trini's table. Kimberly headed for the juice bar. But someone was interested in Kimberly's club. Very interested. He wasn't in the youth center or in the school auditorium. In fact, 14 he wasn't anywhere near Angel Grove High. He watched from the cold, inky darkness of space. He was Lord Zedd, Emperor of the forces of Evil. Just a whisper of his name made creatures throughout the universe shiver in fear. The emperor was as huge and powerful as he was evil. His rubbery red skin was bound with silver armor bars. No one had ever seen his face. It was hidden behind an ugly silver mask. "Hah!" he bellowed. "Kimberly's little touch of jealousy is just what I need to put my plan of destruction into motion!" Lord Zedd's army of Super 15 Putties skulked in the shadows of his Chamber of Command. They were his brainless soldiers, made of dull gray clay. His main warriors--Goldar, Baboo, and Squatt--trembled by his side. "And what a brilliant plan it is," said Goldar. He scratched his head with a bony black wing and frowned. "What is it?" The room blazed with fiery red light. Goldar quivered in fear. The Chamber of Command changed colors to match Lord Zedd's moods. And red signaled angry. Really angry! "Have you no brains at all?" Lord Zedd roared. He shoved Goldar aside. "Ha! I'll switch 16 Kimberly's silly cactus with one of mine--a poison one! She'll prick her finger and fall under my evil spell. It will turn her totally against her little friend Trini. While they fight, I'll be free to take over the Earth!" "Of course! Excellent, 0 Evil One!" Squatt cried, always eager to please his master. You could never tell when Lord Zedd would decide to zap one of his own war riors with his magic staff. "Your fiendish plan is sure to succeed," Goldar agreed. Lord Zedd sighed and shook his head. What idiots I have to work with! he thought. Lord Zedd sat down on his polished 17 silver throne. He gazed toward planet Earth. His anger faded, and the room glowed a soothing blue. Not even Goldar or Squatt or that fussy bumbler Baboo could ruin his mood today. Not when he had such a wonderfully wicked plan-- a plan that could not fail. "Kimberly's jealousy shall be the cause of her own doom!" he bellowed with delight. "It is the beginning of the end for those goody-goody Power Rangers!" 18 Chapter 3 A few seconds later a Super Putty appeared outside the Angel Grove Youth Center. He clutched the poison cactus and looked around. No one was watching. The Super Putty quickly transformed himself into a person. He had long, stringy blond hair. He wore sunglasses and a heavy 19 black coat. With an evil grin, he slipped inside. Excellent! the Super Putty thought, when he saw Kimberly's empty table. He grabbed Kimberly's favorite cactus --the one with three pink blooms. He put the poison one in its place. At the juice bar Kimberly slurped the last sip of juice from her glass. She gave Ernie a lopsided grin. "I'm going back to my table. Maybe somebody will sign up for my club." On the way back Kimberly bumped into a tall, blond guy in a long, dark coat. He glared at her from behind his sunglasses. "Sorry," she said. She shrugged 20 and headed back to her table. No one was there. Kimberly sighed and picked up her favorite cactus. She didn't realize that the plant she held was not hers. Then it happened. Kimberly accidentally pricked her finger on one of the long, sharp cactus needles. "Ouch!" she cried. Odd light sizzled around her hand. Her big brown eyes flashed an eerie shade of green. Kimberly felt a creepy tingle sweep through her body. Her mouth twisted into a nasty sneer. She glared at Trini and then stomped right up to her table. "Thanks, Trini," Kimberly said in a huff, "for hogging all the kids 21 for your Volleyball Club!" Trini blinked in surprise. "Hey, I didn't do it on purpose." "Yeah, lighten up, Kim," said Zack as he and Billy came over. Trini smiled at her friend. "Listen, Kimberly. I'll help you get some club members after our first volleyball practice, okay?" "I don't need your help!" Kimberly snapped and stormed back to her table. Trini's mouth fell open in shock. "What's gotten into her?" Billy just stared and shook his head. Zack ran his hand through his curly black hair and frowned. Tommy and Jason, sitting over at the snack bar, heard it all, too, 22 and looked very puzzled. Kimberly was always so cheerful and friendly. They'd never seen her act this way! Something weird was going on. Then everyone heard Kimberly shout even louder--at Bulk and Skull. "You slimeballs actually have members in your club?" "Yeah, lots!" Bulk said proudly. "Wanna join?" Skull asked. "Not in this lifetime!" Kimberly snapped. "Too bad," said Bulk. "Because the very first project of our Unsolved Mysteries Club is to find out the true identities of the Power Rangers!" 23 Chapter 4 Uh-oh! Tommy and Jason looked at each other. This could mean big trouble for the Power Rangers! "Remember that time the Power Rangers saved us and we heard them talk--up close?" Skull asked. He held up a microphone and tape recorder. "Now all we have to do is find voices that 24 match the ones we heard!" He stuck the microphone under Kimberly's nose. Kimberly smacked the mike away. "Get a life, dimwit!" "She's definitely not a Power Ranger!" Skull said. He and Bulk hurried off to tape some other voices. "Tommy," Ernie said, "maybe these will cheer Kimberly up." He pulled some pretty red flowers from a vase. "Cool," said Tommy. He and Jason walked over to Kimberly. "Sorry you got into a fight with Trini, Kim," Tommy said shyly. "Here, maybe these will help you feel better." 25 "Yeah," said Jason, "it's a drag to get into a hassle with your best friend." Kimberly grabbed the flowers. "I hate flowers!" she cried. "And Trini is not my best friend!" She turned and ran outside. Tommy's eyebrows shot up in surprise. Something was definitely wrong with Kimberly. Outside, Trini and her new club members practiced drills. "Great work, everybody," she said. "See you next time!" She collected the volleyballs and put them in a gym sack as Jason and Tommy hurried over. "Hey, Trini," Jason said. "What's going on with Kimberly?" 26 "I don't know. She got really upset that I had a big turnout for my club," Trini said. "It's not like her to be so jealous." "Maybe we should go inside and try to figure this out," Tommy said. But before they could, they were surrounded by the members of the Unsolved Mysteries Club. Bulk gave Trini, Jason, and Tommy a quick glance. "It's a waste of time to tape these guys," he said. "Yeah," Skull agreed. "These geeks don't have what it takes to be Power Rangers!" Bulk's arm shot out. "But then again, we should check everybody out. Just to be scientific." 27 Skull turned on his tape recorder. He stuck the microphone under Jason's nose. Jason shook his head and chuckled. "Give me a break, Bulk." Skull ran around Bulk and Shoved the mike in Tommy's face. "Hey, cool it," said Tommy. But Skull wouldn't give up. He hurried around Bulk again. In his excitement, he wrapped Bulk up in the cord. "Hey!" Bulk cried. But Skull yanked the mike toward Trini. BAM! Bulk crashed to the ground. Meanwhile Kimberly sat in her garden on the other side of the 28 youth center. She yanked out clumps of weeds, pretending they were Trini's hair. A few minutes later she wiped her hand across her brow. "Why am I sitting here wasting my time with these flowers?" she cried. "It's so boring!" Lord Zedd looked down at Kimberly from the balcony of his fortress on the moon. "I doubt you'll find them so boring, my dear, when you see the monster I create from them!" he snickered. The evil emperor raised his silver staff and thundered, "Behold! The Bloom of Doom!" Like a comet from a distant 29 galaxy, a bolt of lightning Hashed from the Z at the top of his silver staff. The bolt struck Earth. A flower sprang from the dirt. But this was no earthly flower. It walked on two legs like a person. It had thick, slimy green vines for arms. Its head was a cluster of huge, mud-colored blooms. A single green eye stared out from the middle of one ugly bloom. But that wasn't the worst of it. When the Bloom of Doom shook, a strange pollen spewed from its blooms. In a screeching, high-pitched voice, the Bloom of Doom squealed, "Feel the fire of my poisonous pollen, pitiful punks!" 30 Chapter 5 BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! rang the alarms in the secret Command Center far away. Alpha 5, the little robot who ran the Command Center, practically jumped out of his metal skin. "Aye-yi-yi-yi-yi!" he cried, clutching his shiny head. "What's hap pening, Zordon?" 31 Zordon's pale face wavered in a column of eerie green light--as if it were underwater. Zordon, the good wizard, had given the Rangers their power. "Alpha," he said, "check the viewing globe. I sense some evil creation of Zedd's nearby." The viewing globe was a large crystal ball. In it could be seen everything that happened on Earth. Alpha scurried over to look--and gasped! A raging, one-eyed creature--part monster, part plant--thundered through a park in Angel Grove. The grass withered and died under each step it took. "It is Zedd's deadly Bloom of 32 Doom, with its fiery, poisonous pollen," Zordon said. "Alert the Power Rangers--and hurry!" At the volleyball court Jason, Tommy, and Trini heard their wrist communicators beep. "Come in, Zordon, we read you," Jason said. "Zedd sent his Bloom of Doom monster to destroy the planet!" Zordon replied. "Morph to Angel Grove Park immediately!" "I'm ready," Tommy said. "Let's go." "No, Tommy," Trini cried. Tommy was once an evil Green Ranger. Then he joined the Power Rangers to work for the forces of 33 Good. But a fight with Lord Zedd had left Tommy's powers weak. "Shouldn't you save your power?" Trini asked gently. "Trini," Zordon interrupted, "Tommy knows the danger. The decision to join you must be his." Tommy had already decided. "I'm going with you." "All right!" said Jason. "Let's morph into action!" The air crackled with electricity as Trini, Jason, and Tommy raised their Power Morphers to the sky. Just as Zordon had taught them, Trini and Jason called upon the spirits of the ancient dinosaurs. 34 "Saber-toothed Tiger!" Trini cried. "Tyrannosaurus!" Jason cried. "Dragon!" shouted Tommy, calling upon his special spirit. The three ordinary-looking teenagers disappeared. Inside the youth center Billy and Zack heard their communicators beep. They ducked into an empty hallway to answer the call. "Zedd's new monster, the Bloom of Doom, is coming!" Alpha 5 told them. "You must join the others at Angel Grove Park --right now!" "Let's morph into action!" cried Zack. "Mastodon!" "Triceratops!" cried Billy. 35 Billy and Zack disappeared. Kimberly was still uprooting every plant she could find when her communicator beeped. "Come in, Zordon," she snapped. As Zordon explained the danger, Kimberly tapped her foot impatiently. "You must join the other Rangers at Angel Grove Park immediately," Zordon said. "But wait. Alpha is beaming you a special weapon to fight Zedd's new monster, the Bloom of Doom." A second later a strange object appeared in her hand. It looked like a long, thick chopstick, except that one end was wrapped 36 with what looked like pink satin ribbon--the kind that Kimberly sometimes wore in her hair. Kimberly rolled her eyes. "Uh, right. So what am I supposed to do with this thing?" she asked Zordon. "Wrap the ribbon like a vine around the monster," Zordon explained. Kimberly was not impressed. "Whatever you say, Zordon." She brushed some soil from her shirt. "It's morphin time," she said. "Pterodactyl!" Kimberly disappeared. Six columns of shimmering colored light shot through the sky. 37 They landed at Angel Grove Park--as the Power Rangers! Now they stood in shining helmets and sleek, colorful jumpsuits, six powerful protectors. Jason, the Red Ranger. Trini, the Yellow Ranger. Zack, the Black Ranger. Billy, the Blue Ranger. And Tommy, the Green Ranger. Kimberly, the Pink Ranger, stood off to the side with her arms folded. She looked totally bored. But there was no time to deal with that now. The evil Bloom of Doom hovered over them. "Together again, my little Power Rangers?" the monster asked with a giggle. 38 Oh, great! thought Trini. A one-eyed plant that talks! "We're a team," Jason said. "And together we'll destroy you!" "Well, I have some friends, too!" the Bloom of Doom cackled. Suddenly the Rangers were surrounded--by Super Putties! The Power Rangers had fought Putties before. But this fresh- baked batch was stronger and much more powerful. They were Super Putties. Each Super Putty had a Z carved on its chest. And there was only one way to defeat the creature. Kick that Z! Could the Power Rangers win against the most wicked Putties ever to stomp the Earth? 39 Chapter 6 Jason charged toward the Super Putties. "Go for the Z!" Billy the Blue Ranger vaulted into the action. "Ki-yaaah!" Zack sent a flying kick and struck two Putties at once. Their bodies glowed. Then they crum bled into chunks like broken clay statues and disappeared. 40 One by one the Power Rangers sent the Super Putties home. "Time to prune the Bloom of Doom!" Jason shouted. He, Billy, Zack, and Tommy raced toward it. The Bloom of Doom started shaking all over like a wet dog. Yellow pollen sprayed from its blooms. Trini and Kimberly were out of range, but the pollen show ered the guys! "Hey, what is this?" Jason cried. "It burns!" "It's fire pollen!" Billy shouted. Jason, Billy, and Zack struggled in a storm of pollen. Tommy fell to his knees. "The pollen...is making me weaker." Trini ran toward the monster, 41 but Kimberly pushed her aside. "Forget it, Trini," Kimberly shouted. "I have just the thing to put the wraps on this weed!" From her belt, Kimberly pulled the ribbon weapon Zordon had given her. The Pink Ranger snapped her wrist, and the shiny pink ribbon unfurled. A few loops, twists, and swirls--and the Bloom of Doom was all wrapped up. "Now I'll finish it off!" Trini yelled. The Yellow Ranger streaked across the field and jabbed at the monster with her Power Daggers. But sparks from the daggers burned through the ribbon--and freed the Bloom of Doom! 42 The monster disappeared in a shattering of blossoms. Trini looked around. "Wh-what happened? Where'd it go?" Kimberly stomped her foot in anger. "Trini, I almost had it!" The Bloom of Doom showed up again--behind Kimberly! Kimberly spun around quickly and flung the ribbon like a lasso. But the monster was too quick. It grabbed the ribbon and yanked hard. Kimberly sailed over the monster's head and crumpled to the ground. "How does it feel to be so jealous, Pink Ranger?" the Bloom of Doom teased. The monster stared deep into Kimberly's eyes. 43 Kimberly tried to get up, but couldn't. She couldn't even look away. "What's happening?" Kimberly asked, as she squinted into the spinning red center of the flower's icky green eye. It looked as though there were ten eyes staring back at her. Kimberly grew dizzy. "I can't think straight!" she cried. The Bloom of Doom was hypnotizing her! Then, before anyone could help, the evil Bloom of Doom--and Kimberly--disappeared! "We've got to smash that Bloom of Doom!" Trini cried. "But how do we fight something we can't find?" Zack asked. 44 Chapter 7 "Where am I?" Kimberly whispered. Her eyes slowly cleared. Above her she saw only black sky. The trees, houses, grass--everything was gone. A thick, smoky fog swirled around her knees like ocean water. Spiky cacti as tall as people stood with arms raised-ready 45 to grab her at any moment. "Welcome to my little garden," the Bloom of Doom said in a sickly sweet voice. "I do hope you like it!" The monster cracked a vine arm like a whip and growled, "Because you're here for all of eternity!" Kimberly clenched her fists to keep from trembling. Then she heard a deep voice rumbling across the black sky. "Do you see where your jealous heart has brought you, Pink Ranger? To your doom!" It was Lord Zedd! His horrible, howling laughter rang in Kimberly's ears. "Give up, Pink Ranger. There is 46 nothing--nothing!--anyone can do to save you now!" he roared. The Bloom of Doom jumped up and down with glee, its vines and blooms waving wildly. Kimberly leaped to her feet, prepared to fight. "You don't know who you're dealing with!" she shouted. The Bloom of Doom crossed its vine-like arms. "You talk, talk, talk," it complained. "But let's see you deal with this!" The flower shook its head, and a storm of fiery pollen spewed from its four dark blooms. The yellow gunk exploded around Kimberly, and she fell to the ground in a shower of sparks. 47 Kimberly let out a groan. "This pollen--it burns!" "You see? You cannot fight me, human. You are doomed!" the monster shrieked. Five columns of shimmering light whooshed into Zordon's Command Center. Red, yellow, blue, black, green...but no pink. Jason, Trini, Billy, Zack, and Tommy appeared. Jason pulled off his red helmet and rubbed his eyes. "Zordon! What has Lord Zedd done with Kimberly?" "Lord Zedd cast an evil spell on her and poisoned her with jealousy. He wants to make you all 48 fight against each other!" "We can't let him do that!" said Trini. "We have to help Kimberly!" "Where is she now?" Billy asked. "She is not on Earth anymore. And she is not at evil Zedd's moon fortress," Zordon replied. "So where is she?" Zack asked. "She is in between those places. In an interdimensional warp," Zordon said. "It will be nearly impossible to break through it and free her." "But we can't just leave her there!" Tommy cried. "Alpha is working on a solution," Zordon said. "Until then all we can do is wait." 49 Chapter 8 Kimberly struggled to her knees in the dark, smoky cactus world. "I've...got to...fight this," she gasped. "Fight this!" the Bloom of Doom cried. The monster whipped toward Kimberly and grabbed her. Its vine arms coiled like snakes 50 around the struggling Pink Ranger and began to drag her. Closer...and closer. Kimberly dug her Power Boots into the ground and fought with all her might. "You'll never win, you disgusting plant!" Kimberly shouted. "My friends know that you have me-- and they'll come for me." "You have no friends, Power Ranger. Remember? Your jealousy ended that forever!" The monster laughed and tightened its hold on Kimberly. Kimberly struggled in its grip. Did the Bloom of Doom speak the truth? Or would her friends find a way to save her? * * * 51 At the Command Center, Billy frowned. What good was being smart if he couldn't think of a way to help Kimberly? He walked over to stand beside Alpha at the computer and studied the pages of printouts. Then he entered information into the com puter. The other Power Rangers gathered round. "Kimberly is in another dimension. And we can still reach her," Billy said. "But Trini's the only one who can do it." Billy explained to Trini how to find Kimberly. "You must throw your Power Daggers in a perfectly straight line from your shoulder. If 52 you do, your daggers will pierce through the evil dimension and free Kimberly. That will also break the spell of jealousy." Trini didn't think twice. "I'm morphing back into action!" Zordon's voice echoed in the chamber. "Hurry, Trini. If Kimberly stays in the interdimensional warp too long, she will be lost forever!" 53 Chapter 9 Trini stood alone on the highest bridge in Angel Grove. The wind whipped around her. She stared down at the park where she last saw Kimberly. This has to work! she thought. Trini's powers--like all the Power Rangers'--were strong. But she had two weapons against Evil 54 that were even stronger. Her courage. And her love for her friend. Trini pulled out her Power Daggers. She went over Billy's instructions in her mind. Then she took aim and threw as straight as she could. ZZZAAAPF! The sound of another dimension ripping was like nothing Trini had ever heard. Sparks showered through the air. "Kimberly!" she screamed, hoping her friend could hear her. Then, like groceries bursting through the bottom of a shopping bag, Kimberly and the terrible Bloom of Doom tumbled onto the grass. It worked! They were back 55 in the Earth's dimension. "Trini!" Kimberly cried. "You came!" "Of course! That's what friends are for." Trini looked closely at the Pink Ranger. "We are friends, aren't we "Yes," Kimberly said with a smile. She grasped Trini's hand in a powerful handshake. "Friends forever!" Trini nearly shouted for joy. The jealousy spell was broken! "All right, then," Trini cried. "Let's chop this weed." Kimberly somersaulted onto Trini's shoulders. Then she leaped high into the air, shooting arrows from her Power Bow. 56 Suddenly the other Power Rangers appeared to join in the fight. Jason gave Trini and Kimberly a thumbs-up sign. It was great to have the Power Rangers back together again. "Hey," the Bloom of Doom cried as one of Kimberly's arrows pierced its petals. "You power punks need some more pollen!" Kimberly turned to the others. "Let's not give it a chance," she said. "Power Blaster, guys!" "Power Ax!" Zack cried and threw his weapon. It hovered--like magic!--in the air. "Power Bow!" Kimberly cried. She flung it into the air, and it connected like wings to the Power Ax. 57 "Power Daggers!" Trini cried, throwing. They locked on each side like turbojets. "Power Lances!" cried Billy. They hooked on for more power. "Power Sword!" Jason shouted. He sprang into the air to lock the sword into place. The Power Blaster glowed to life. Jason landed on his feet with the Power Blaster in his hands. "Fire!" the Green Ranger cried. The Power Rangers shattered the Bloom of Doom. It was gone forever. The six friends joined hands in a giant high-five. The Power Rangers were together again. And together they were unbeatable! 58 * * * "Blast! BLAST! And BLAST AGAIN!" Lord Zedd roared from his fortress on the moon. His Chamber of Command glowed red. So red it looked as if it might catch on fire! He sat on his throne, glaring at Goldar, Baboo, and Squatt. "I should turn you all into snakes!" he growled, raising his zapping hand. "I hate to be outsmarted by humans-- even if they do have special powers!" "F-forgive us, Your Excellency," Goldar begged, trembling. Zedd's face pulsed a bright red. "Mark my words. When next the Power Rangers and I meet, I will not be defeated!" 59 Chapter 10 At the youth center that afternoon, Kimberly was surrounded--by lots of kids! They all wanted to join her Garden Club! Kimberly wasn't a member of the Unsolved Mysteries Club. But she had definitely solved a mystery. She discovered exactly why no 60 one was joining her club. Mr. Caplan had accidentally put the wrong information in the school paper. It said the Garden Club sign- up would be in the school auditorium--not at the youth center. "Thank goodness everyone finally figured out where to go!" Mr. Caplan said. "It all worked out great," said Kimberly. "My friends didn't give up until they found me!" Kimberly's best friends came by. Trini was glad to see so many kids signing up for Kimberly's club. Kimberly smiled shyly. "Trini, can you ever forgive me for being such a brat?" "Sure!" said Trini. "Our friendship 61 is as solid as a rock!" Tommy grinned. "It'll take a lot more to break up this group." Just then Bulk and Skull rushed in. What a mess! They were covered with mud, leaves, and moss. They looked as if they'd been crawling through a swampy jun gle--on trash day! "Listen up!" Bulk shouted. "The Unsolved Mysteries Club will now expose the Power Rangers' true identities!" Skull waved his tape recorder high in the air and grinned. A crowd of excited kids gathered round. Jason, Billy, Trini, Zack, Kimberly, and Tommy looked at one another nervously. 62 Had Bulk realty uncovered their identities? "We'll just play this tape," Bulk explained. "Then we'll see if we recognize the voices we heard. Roll it, Skull!" Skull pushed the rewind button. Whim! Then he tried fast forward. Whizzzz! Then he gave the machine a whack. Sproing! The recorder flipped open. The tape was muddy, tangled with slimy moss ...and ruined. "Ooops!" Skull said in a squeaky mouse voice. "B-b-bad t-tape." He started backing away from Bulk. Bulk growled. "Can't you do anything right?" 63 Peee-uuu! Something really stinks in Angel Grove. It's the Bloom of Doom--with its poisonous pollen--and it has Kimberly trapped in another dimension!
