1. Installation:

If you install under Windows XP or Vista, you need administrator rights 
because the installation copies several chess fonts into the system folder.


2. Possible problems with chess piece fonts:

In case you notice letters instead of chess pieces on the board, 
please try to reinstall the true type fonts which are contained 
in the folder "Fonts" on this CD manually. Use the Control Panel -> Fonts function.


3. DirectX 9.0c

To display the photorealistic 3D chess board, 
you need DirectX 9.0c or better. The installation offers this automatically. 
However the chess program will run fine without DirectX, 
so you can skip the installation if you dont want to use the 3D board.
Note: It is recommended to download the latest version of DirectX from www.microsoft.com.


4. New Engine interface

Fritz10 supports a new engine interface with enhanced features. To ensure compatibility with Windows Vista,
engines in the new format are stored at '\Program files\Common files\ChessBase\Engines'.
